We are a Small Batch Distillery making Gins, Vodkas and ultimately releasing what we hope will be a unique Rum. We have been in planning stage since 2021 and in February 2023 we obtained our Manufacturing Licence from the ATO.
In March 2023 discussions commenced with MBRC for pre-lim feedback on what they require for us to become the first Distillery to open on the Redcliffe Peninsula, based within the Clontarf Industrial Estate. After a lot of backwards and forwards communications, MBRC advised us that we needed to lodged a DA for a change of use for our premises and this was lodged on 22nd September 2023. Public Notice period commenced on 27th November and closes 18th December 2023. Subject to no objections to our DA, MBRC will then have 25 business days to either approve our DA or reject it outright given we have lodged everything they have requested. ‘
With luck we will have our DA approved by 1st February 2024 and then the real work will begin to fitout the Distillery and get our electrical and plumbing work completed. If all goes to plan we are hoping to open sometime in March 2024.
